COMSTOCK PARK, MI – The West Michigan Whitecaps scheduled series opener for Tuesday morning against the Lansing Lugnuts has been postponed due to inclement weather at Jackson Field. Tuesday’s game will be made up in a Wednesday doubleheader beginning at 5 pm.

A steady rain beginning early Tuesday made conditions unplayable for the contest, making Tuesday the third 2022 gameday to see a rainout for West Michigan and the first in the month of May.

Both Wednesday games will last seven innings, with a 30-minute break between contests. The twin bill is scheduled to be the third doubleheader for West Michigan this season. Thus far, the Whitecaps hold a record of 2-2 in the two doubleheaders in which they’ve played, including a split of two against the Great Lakes Loons to snap a seven-game losing skid last Sunday at LMCU Ballpark with an 8-2 victory.
