Whitecaps release 2016 season schedule
Comstock Park, MI - The 2015 Midwest League Champion West Michigan Whitecaps release their 2016 season schedule.
The team will start the 2016 season on the road on Thursday, April 7 in South Bend for a two-game series. The championship banner will fly at the Whitecaps' first home game on Saturday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m. versus the South Bend Cubs. The Whitecaps will travel to Cedar Rapids, IA from April 26 to April 28 to take on the Kernels in the only 2016 series pitting together the two championship finals teams from 2015.
Fireworks will once again be high over Fifth Third Ballpark with 20 Family Fare Fireworks Nights, including every summertime Wednesday and Saturday home game and selected additional nights.
Seven popular Tiger Friday nights are scheduled, beginning with the Friday, June 10 game against Lansing and every home Friday night thereafter. Three 11 a.m. school days are scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, Thursday, May 19, and Tuesday, June 7. In addition, there is a special weekday 3:00 p.m. matinee game on Wednesday, May 4.
Wolverine Building Group Dime Dog Nights will return with four of the popular Tuesday nights scheduled with the discounted hot dogs.
Weekly promotions include Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Days on Sundays, JQ99 Bulletin Night on Mondays, Storypoint Silver Slugger Night for seniors on Wednesdays and Altogas Thrifty Thursdays. Many more promotions will be added throughout the off-season. Promotions will be added to the Whitecaps website as they are booked.
Whitecaps games will be back on the radio in 2016, on flagship station 107.3 WBBL FM.
Fans can purchase season tickets and mini plans beginning Tuesday, October 22, by calling the Whitecaps front office at (616) 784-4131. Tickets for groups of 20 or more, including private party areas, will go on sale in November. Individual game tickets will go on sale in early 2016.
