BEER CITY BUNG HAMMERS

For the sixth year in a row, Grand Rapids has been named Beer City, USA by USA Today. That's generational dominance, if you ask us. That's why, once a year, the Whitecaps become the Beer City Bung Hammers!

We raise a toast to the breweries, the beer festivals, the ale trails, and everything that makes our West Michigan beer scene the best in the nation!

What's a Bung Hammer? And what does it have to do with beer? Attend our Bung Hammers Night to learn this and plenty of other fun beer facts!

MICHIGAN SNOWBIRDS

The Michigan Snowbird is a fascinating creature. This beloved species is unmistakable to anyone who's spent time in the Great Lakes State, and is easily identifiable thanks to its defining characteristics: a white nose slathered in zinc oxide, knee-high socks paired with sandals, and a generally relaxed demeanor.

Equal parts celebration and spectacle, the Michigan Snowbirds are a love letter to everything that makes Midwest summers worth coming home to — baseball, BBQs, beaches, and more. They’ll be touching down at LMCU Ballpark on August 1, 2026

LAS CALAVERAS DE WEST MICHIGAN

Baseball is a sport that embraces families and celebrations, and the "Calaveras de West Michigan" alternate persona of the West Michigan Whitecaps brings the vibrant local Hispanic/Latino community and its traditions to LMCU Ballpark. Fans enjoy sugar skull decorating, face painting, authentic food and music, games and more when Las Calaveras de West Michigan take the field.
