CST, Zephyrs Announce 10-Game TV Schedule

2008 Season Will Be Zephyrs' 6th On CST
January 29, 2008
CST and the New Orleans Zephyrs announced a 10-game broadcast schedule for the 2008 season. The Zephyrs will begin their CST schedule on April 3 at home against the Nashville Sounds.

"Having a regional sports network like Cox Sports Television in your corner has been a huge 'plus' for our organization throughout the years," said New Orleans Zephyrs General manager Mike Schline. "We again look forward to our partnership and we look forward to CST bringing our product throughout the Gulf South."

For the second year, the Zephyrs will be managed by two-time World Series Champion Ken Oberkfell. The 16-year major league veteran will be looking for his 800th minor league win as manager this season.

"This is our sixth season with the New Orleans Zephyrs and we are looking forward to another year with one of the best organizations in the Minor Leagues," said CST Head Rod Mickler. "They bring a quality product to our line-up and we are excited to bring another season to our viewers."

In 2007, the Zephyrs won the Pacific Coast League's American South Division with a 75-69 record and advanced to the PCL Championship Series against the Sacramento River Cats.

Once again, the CST broadcast team will be a mix of Paul Crane, Tim Grubbs and Ron Swoboda. Crane, announcer for CST Tonight!, will alternate play-by-play duties with Grubbs, who is the team's Director of Broadcasting. Swoboda, who played six seasons with the Mets and was on the 1969 World Series club, will serve as analyst.

Grubbs and Swoboda will also pair up to host Inside Zephyrs Baseball, a weekly 30-minute look inside the Z's organization. The full schedule of the show will be release at a later date.
