Wichita, KS- The Wind Surge split a doubleheader against the Frisco RoughRiders losing game one 3-0 and bounced back to win game two 7-1 behind two home runs from Jair Camargo.
Jack Leiter led the RoughRiders to a 3-0 win over the Surge in game one. Leiter pitched five and two thirds scoreless innings and allowed four hits and tallied eight strikeouts to earn his second win of the season.
Deshawn Keirsey Jr. tallied two hits and a walk in game one of the doubleheader and was a spark at the plate for the Surge. Keirsey finished the night three for six with one walk.
Surge newcomer Jair Camargo got things started for Wichita in the first inning of game two, as he hit a two-run homer to give Wichita an early 2-0 lead.
Jair Camargo hit another two-run homer in the fourth inning that gave the Surge a commanding 7-0 advantage. Camargo finished the night two for eight with two homers and four RBIs.
Surge Reliever Kody Funderburk started on the mound for Wichita and pitched four scoreless innings, striking out four hitters and allowing just two hits before being relieved by Denny Bentley in the fifth inning.
