Yake leads Surge in series victory
Wichita, KS – Ernie Yake’s sixth inning, bases clearing double led the Wichita Wind Surge to a 5-3 come-from-behind victory against the Frisco Roughriders on Sunday afternoon. The Surge took four of six games from Frisco. The first place Wind Surge extended their lead over Tulsa to one-and-one half games.

The Surge took four of six games from Frisco. The first place Wind Surge extended their lead over Tulsa to one-and-one half games.
The RoughRiders took an early 2-0 lead with runs in the second and third innings. Chris Williams crushed a 107mph solo homer to left field in the fourth to tie the game at two. Simeon Woods-Richardson started for the Surge and pitched 5.0 innings, allowing six hits and racking up seven strikeouts.
Kody Funderburk pitched two innings and earned his league-leading sixth win of the season. Osiris German pitched the ninth and earned his first save of the season.
Notes: Wichita had their thirteenth come-from-behind win of the season. The Wind Surge have won seven out of nine series with one split… Chris Williams hit his fifth home run and his second of the series… Edouard Julien stole his sixth bag of the season…
COMING UP: Wichita travels to Little Rock, Arkansas to begin its longest road trip of the season. The 13-game road trip opens on Tuesday against the Travelers, followed by seven games against Tulsa.
