Crossroads @ SECCA Concert Series presents The Baseball Project on June 21 at BB&T Ballpark

Enjoy a concert with The Baseball Project before the Dash's 5 p.m. game on Sunday, June 21
June 4, 2015

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 2, 2015) - The Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) is proud to present The Baseball Project (www.thebaseballproject.net), on Father's Day, Sunday, June 21, 2015, in partnership with the Winston-Salem Dash. This is the twelfth installment of its Crossroads @ SECCA concert series.

The concert will take place before the Dash's 5 p.m. game against the Salem Red Sox. BB&T Ballpark's gates will open at 2:30 p.m., and The Baseball Project will take the stage at 3:05 p.m. for a 90-minute set.

Following its show, the band will sing the national anthem prior to first pitch. Advance tickets are available for as low as $8, and they are good for both the concert and the game. Fans are encouraged to call the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visit wsdash.com to purchase tickets using the promotion code "SECCA."

"Baseball and rock 'n roll are two of America's great pastimes, so combining them and partnering with the Dash to present The Baseball Project prior to the Dash home game seemed like a home run," said Andy Tennille, a SECCA Foundation board member and curator of the Crossroads @ SECCA concert series. "We hope families will come out and spend the day at BB&T Ballpark and enjoy some great music and Dash baseball on Father's Day."

Formed in 2007 by Scott McCaughey (R.E.M., Young Fresh Fellows, The Minus 5) and Steve Wynn (The Dream Syndicate, Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3, Gutterball), The Baseball Project began as a way for two friends and baseball fans to pay musical tribute to the national pastime. Over the course of three studio albums and many shows, the Project blossomed into a full-fledged and critically acclaimed rock supergroup, one whose lineup includes drummer Linda Pitmon (Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3, Zuzu's Petals) and R.E.M.'s Mike Mills.

"Since BB&T Ballpark's opening, one of our organization's primary goals has been to host much more than baseball games," Dash President Geoff Lassiter said. "This is an opportunity for fans to enjoy baseball and a tremendous pregame show. We cannot wait to welcome The Baseball Project to BB&T Ballpark. All fans will love their music!"
