WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Mar. 18, 2019) - For the second consecutive season, the Winston-Salem Dash will be rebranded for five games as the Winston-Salem Rayados as part of Minor League Baseball's "Copa de la Diversión" or "Fun Cup" initiative, which allows Minor League teams to connect with their diverse community, embracing the culture and values that resonate most with Hispanics/Latinos nationwide.
After a successful launch last year, the Dash and 71 other Minor League clubs will bolster their marketing and customer service efforts to create a culturally relevant gameday experience through music, concessions and promotions. In 2018, the 33 teams who dedicated 167 games as "Copa de la Diversión"-designated events reported a 12.6 percent attendance increase compared to similar game dates in 2017.

"We are excited to continue with this important, fun initiative that allows us to strengthen our relations with the Hispanic community, "said Winston-Salem Dash President, C.J. Johnson." Incorporating new uniforms, music and concession menu items on our Rayados dates have provided a unique twist on our always-enjoyable game day experience."
"Rayados" translates to "the Striped Ones," and is born out of a collaboration with the baseball team and the Hispanic League of Winston-Salem. The name recalls the pinstripes worn from previous Winston-Salem teams, and the term "Rayo" also loosely translates to "Bolt," the Dash's mascot.
Winston-Salem will sport a white jersey with red and blue stripes and "Winston-Salem Rayados" written on the front. In addition, the club will wear red caps with a white "R" outlined in blue. These caps will be available for purchase all season long at the Hanes Team Store located on the concourse behind home plate at BB&T Ballpark. These caps will also be available for purchase at BB&T Ballpark and are available online at wsdash.com.
Last season, the Dash went 4-1 wearing their Rayados jerseys, with 2018 MLB Pipeline Pitcher of the Year Dylan Cease earning two of those victories.
Tickets for this season's Rayados games will start as low as $8, and fans can purchase theirs online or by calling (336) 714-2287. Four Rayados contests will also be a Lowes Foods Family Sunday, with free Kids Zone for children ages 12 and under along with two players available for sign autographs prior to the game.
Winston-Salem begins their season by traveling to Frederick, Md., to face the Frederick Keys on April 4. The Dash's home opener is set for Thursday, April 11, against Potomac.
