Three "Friday Night Fireworks" Added to PawSox Promotional Schedule
The Pawtucket Red Sox have added three new "Friday Night Fireworks" shows to their promotional calendar: June 24, July 15, and August 5, with music from a particular decade accompanying each display. In addition, the PawSox will celebrate the pride, heritage, and history of Pawtucket with ceremonies on August 5.
The music of the '90s will accompany the June 24 show, followed by a salute to the '80s on July 15. The Beatles and other iconic groups of the '60s will provide the soundtrack August 5.
"Ballpark fireworks have long been a popular family fun tradition in Pawtucket," said PawSox President Dr. Charles A. Steinberg, "And we thank Mayor Grebien and the Pawtucket City Council for allowing us to add these dates to our promotional schedule."
The shows are in addition to a fireworks calendar that continues this Sunday, May 29, with a patriotic edition after a special 6:05 p.m. game in honor of Memorial Day Weekend.
On Saturday, June 11, fireworks will be set to Star Wars music. Box seat tickets for that 6:05 p.m. game have already sold out, though some general admission tickets remain.
After the debut of "Friday Night Fireworks" on June 24, a full Independence Day Weekend of Patriotic Fireworks takes place July 1-2-3.
After "Friday Night Fireworks" July 15 and August 5, the PawSox present SuperHero Fireworks Saturday, August 6, and wrap up the fireworks schedule with a patriotic finale on the Sunday evening of Labor Day Weekend, September 4.
For the tributes to the '60s, '80s, and '90s, the club welcomes fans to submit suggestions for particular pieces of music, sending them via email to [email protected].
Tickets for all games are available at pawsox.com.
