The PawSox have matched their season high by dropping their eighth straight game on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Red Wings, 6-0.
Charlie Zink worked 5 and a third innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits. Zink had no strikeouts, walked 5 and hit a pair. The I.L. pitcher of the year in 2008 with a 14-6 record and a 2.84 ERA, Zink fell to 5-14 for 2009.
The Wings scored 2 runs in the first, third and fourth innings. Danny Valencia delivered a 2 run double in the first frame.
