Three consecutive home runs propel Aces past Grizzlies

Fresno, Calif.- The Reno Aces hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the second inning and rode the momentum to a 9-2 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies Saturday night at Chukchansi Park in Fresno.

The three home runs, hit by Nick Evans, Roger Kieschnick, and Blake Lalli, marked the first time in franchise history the team has hit three-consecutive home runs.

Ender Inciarte added a solo home run in the fourth inning, the first of his Triple-A career. The Aces hit eight home runs over the last two games to set a new franchise record for home runs in consecutive games.

Fresno opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Chris Dominguez drove home Juan Perez on a single to left.

The Aces answered immediately, however. After Mike Jacobs grounded out to the pitcher, Evans, Kieschnick and Lalli all homered to give Reno the lead for good. The Aces added one run in the third, three in the fourth, and one in the fifth and the ninth to stretch the lead to seven.

Randy Wolf got his first win of the season for the Aces after joining the team on Monday. The win was Wolf's first Triple-A victory since 1999, when he was a member of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barrons.

Evans finished 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Inciarte was 2-for-6 to extend his hitting streak to eight games. It was also Inciarte's third-straight multi-hit game. Jacobs had two singles, moving his on-base streak to 16 games.

Former Grizzlies outfielder Roger Kieschnick, in his first game back in Fresno, went 2-for-3 with two home runs and two walks.

The same two teams will meet tomorrow afternoon, with RHP Charles Brewer (1-2, 4.11) getting the start for Reno and LHP Edwin Escobar (0-1, 8.53) going for Fresno. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
