COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Reno Aces took the field on the road Saturday night marking their first victory at Security Service Field in game two of the series with 17 hits over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Trailing by two runs in the ninth, Reno rallied with six runs on six hits to take the final 12-8 lead. Kristopher Negrón was the hero on the night after he gave the Aces the advantage in the ninth with his bases loaded clearing double. Negrón finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI with two doubles. Ildemaro Vargas collected a three-hit night with three RBI. Reno starter Tyler Badamo, in his Triple-A debut, tossed five and one-third innings and allowed four runs on nine hits while striking out two batters in front of a crowd of more than 8,000.

Reno jumped out to an early lead with run support for Badamo in the first two innings. In the first, after Jack Reinheimer and Christian Walker combined for a pair of singles, Willians Astudillo came up with a big two-out single through the hole at second base to bring around Reinheimer to take the lead. In the second, after Negrón reached on a fielding error and advanced to second on Ronnie Freeman's short ground ball out to the pitcher, Vargas came up with another big two-out hit to score Negrón from second and collect his 50th RBI of the season.
After allowing just one hit through the first three frames, Badamo was nickel and dimed in the bottom of the fourth when the Sky Sox tied the game up with a double and three infield base hits. The Aces quickly changed that, however, with three runs total in the fifth and sixth innings.
The Sky Sox cut the Aces lead short in the bottom of the sixth when they tallied two more runs on three hits off of Badamo to complete his first Triple-A start after 5.1 innings. Silvino Bracho relieved Badamo and finished out the sixth to keep the Aces one-run lead intact. However, in the seventh, pinch-hitter Chris Colabello evened the game once again at 5-5 with his first Triple-A home run of the season.
In the eighth, pinch-hitter Sócrates Brito gave the Aces the 6-5 lead with a two-out home run, his third home of the season, on a 1-1 pitch, also marking the Aces first pinch hit round-tripper since Trayvon Robinson in 2015. The solo shot was not enough though as Colorado Spring rallied back with three runs with two out in the bottom half of the eighth on three hits off of rehabber Rubby De La Rosa to take the lead 8-6.
With a record of 2-35 when trailing after eight innings, the Aces reversed the stat and rallied in the ninth with six runs on six hits to finally seal the last lead. After Reno loaded the bases with one out while trailing by a run, Negrón saw one pitch which he sent deep to right field and off the wall to clear the bases and give the Aces a two-run lead. Freeman and Vargas would follow with RBI base hits to give the Aces a four-run cushion heading into the bottom frame.
Reliever Eric Jokisch completed the three-and-a-half hour contest after allowing one hit and a walk. Both Bracho and De La Rosa recorded blown saves, but De La Rosa was the winning pitcher in the contest.
The victory brings the Aces to a record of 58-42 on the season. Reno will square off against the Sky Sox two more times before heading to Oklahoma City for a four-game set. Follow the club all season long on Twitter (@Aces) or like the team on Facebook.
