RENO, Nev. – The Reno Aces (15-8) displayed their resilience in a hard-fought series against their Silver State rivals, the Las Vegas Aviators (16-17), the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. The seven-game series was tied 3-3 heading into Sunday's series finale, where Las Vegas came out on top 6-4 to take the series.

The Aces started by taking the first game 10-6, with standout performances from Brett Johnson and Adrian Del Castillo. However, Reno's offense struggled to find its rhythm midweek, dropping three consecutive games. Friday's matchup, however, showcased a masterful performance by Brett Johnson. Trailing 10-7 in the eighth inning, Johnson stepped up to the plate with two runners in scoring position and delivered a game-tying three-run blast for Reno. In the ninth inning, with the game tied and the bases loaded, Adrian Del Castillo came through with a go-ahead two-run double down the left-field line, putting the Aces in the lead. Saturday's victory saw standout two-RBI performances from Johnson, Albert Almora Jr., Andres Chaparro, and Tristin English to give Reno a 9-6 victory.

Andres Chaparro was a force to be reckoned with at the plate against Las Vegas. The right-handed slugger went 8-for-23 (.347) with three doubles and one home run, driving in six runs. Chaparro's dominance over Las Vegas throughout the nine games this season is evident in his impressive slash line of .406/.500/.594. The 24-year-old will be a key player to watch in the upcoming series against Tacoma, as he aims to maintain his strong offensive presence.

Johnson had an exceptional series, going 4-for-13 with two doubles, a triple, a home run, and seven runs batted in. The hot streak has bumped his season totals to .257/.395/.600 with six extra-base hits and 12 RBI.

Alek Thomas began his MLB rehab assignment after recovering from a left hamstring strain. In three games with the Aces, the left-handed hitter has gone 3-for-12, notching a double and driving in five runs.

The Aces will return to Greater Nevada Field and begin their May home schedule with a six-game set against the Tacoma Rainiers, the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate. The series will begin on Tuesday, May 7th, with an 11:05 a.m. first pitch.
