Round Rock, Tex. A spectacular performance on the mound from Chris Ellis set the tone for the Reno Aces (21-24) as they held the Round Rock Express (25-19) to a single run en route to a 3-1 victory in Sunday’s series finale at Dell Diamond.

Ellis took the win after dominating the Express for 7.0 innings, limiting them to just one run on three hits, and one walk with a season-high seven punchouts. The right-hander has now registered three straight outings with at least 5.0 innings pitched. In that span, Ellis has allowed six runs in 17.0 innings with 13 punchouts. He carries a 4.44 ERA with a 17:10 K: BB into his next projected start against Oklahoma City.

Kolten Wong brought in two extra-base knocks and notably got the scoring started for Reno with his second home run of the campaign off Peter Solomon in the top of the second. The infielder is now slashing .293/.356/.424 with two home runs and 15 RBI.

Adrian Del Castillo added a needed insurance run in the seventh inning with a 425-foot blast to centerfield off a Kyle Barraclough four-seam fastball. The backstop is now hitting .306 with three home runs and eight RBI in May.

The Aces will now travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Baseball Club in a six-game set, with the first game of the series scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st at 5:05 p.m. PT.
