Matt Holliday and Josh Fuentes each connected on a home run Friday evening, guiding the Isotopes (57-67) to an 8-7 win over the River Cats (50-74).

Holliday finished the night 2-for-2 with two runs scored, a home run, two RBI, a walk and was hit by a pitch. The 38-year-old has recorded a hit in each of his last eight at-bats. The Isotopes record for at-bats with a hit is nine held by Ryan McMahon.

Not to be outdone, Josh Fuentes connected on his first professional grand slam in the seventh inning. It was the 12th home run of the season for Fuentes and RBI 81, 82, 83 and 84 for the third baseman.
On the mound, Isotopes starter Peter Lambert pitched better than his line indicated. The right-hander allowed four earned runs over his 6.2 innings pitched, walking two and striking out two. He received a no-decision.
Pitching just one third of an inning, Yency Almonte picked up the win in relief. Isotopes closer DJ Johnson saved his 16th game of the season, recording the contest's final four outs.
The Isotopes and River Cats continue their four-game set on Saturday evening from Isotopes Park. Left-hander David Holmberg will toe the rubber for Albuquerque. First pitch from Isotopes Park is set for 6:35 p.m.
