The Isotopes (25-22) scored three runs in the ninth inning and had the tying run on second base, but their rally fell short as the Salt Lake Bees (26-21) hung on to come away with a 7-6 victory. With the loss, the Isotopes have fallen out of first place by one game.

An uncharacteristically sloppy inning defensively in the sixth for the Isotopes was their undoing as Albuquerque committed four errors in the frame. The miscues led to four Salt Lake runs crossing the plate.
The four miscues in the inning marked the first time the Isotopes have committed four or more errors in a game since April 30, 2015 vs. Salt Lake when they had six.
David Holmberg took the loss on the evening, falling to 2-4 on the year. The southpaw allowed five runs, four of which were earned, over 5.1 innings. Holmberg walked three and struck out two.
At the plate, the Isotopes connected on five doubles with Ryan McMahon, Raimel Tapia, Jan Vázquez, Mike Tauchman and Stephen Cardullo each coming through with a two-base hit.
Tapia and McMahon also each knocked home two runs on the evening.
The Isotopes look to pull back into first place on Thursday with a series finale matinee against the Bees. Yency Almonte is scheduled to toe the rubber for the Isotopes. First pitch from Isotopes Park is set for 12:05 p.m.
