Arkansas Travelers outfielder Victor Labrada was named Texas League Player of the Week for April 28-May 4 it was announced today by Minor League Baseball. Labrada led the lead in nearly every major offensive statistical category. Playing in six games he was 11-21 with five walks and six extra base hits for a slash line of .524/.630/1.000. He hit four doubles, two home runs, drove in nine runs, scored seven runs and stole four bases. His weekly totals led or tied for the league lead in batting average, on base percentage, slugging percentage, home runs, RBI, doubles, runs, extra base hits, hits and stolen bases.
For the season, Labrada is batting .279/.411/.488 with 18 walks, 11 extra base hits including a team high three homers, 13 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 26 games. The 25-year old Labrada was signed by Seattle as an international free agent in January of 2021. He was born in Havana, Cuba and first joined the Travs in June of last year.
He is the second Traveler to win a Texas League weekly award in 2025 joining pitcher Adam Seminaris. This is his first career minor league weekly award.
Labrada and the Travs host the Springfield Cardinals this week at CHI St. Vincent Field at Dickey-Stephens Park from Tuesday through Sunday. It is Mad Mallards Week with duck themed promotions all week long.
