BELOIT – The Beloit Sky Carp couldn’t keep a 4-0 lead and fell 6-5 in 10 innings Tuesday night in Peoria.

Beloit got the game off to a terrific start, scoring four times in the top of the third inning. Yiddi Cappe got the scoring started with a solo home run, his fourth of the season.

Josh Zamora added an RBI single, while Tanner Allen added a two-run knock to make it 4-0. The Chiefs bounced back with a pair of runs on a Jeremy Rivas homer in the bottom of the inning against Beloit starting pitcher Jared Poland.

Davis Bradshaw drove in a run in the seventh on a grounder to make it 5-2, but the Chiefs scored twice in the seventh and once more in the eighth to knot the game at 5-5.

After the Sky Carp came up empty in the top of the 10th inning, Ramon Mendoza’s sacrifice fly won the game for the Chiefs. Tyler Eckberg (2-1) took the loss despite not allowing an earned run.
