Logan Farrar homered, but the Beloit Snappers (8-7) fell 12-2 in the series finale with the Peoria Chiefs (9-9) at Pohlman Field before 424 fans Thursday night.

The Snappers fell behind early, as the Chiefs plated five runs in the top of the first inning, including a lead off home run to Peoria's center fielder Nick Plummer. Jonathan Machado then plated three with a double to right field to extend the Chiefs lead to 4-0. Julio Rodriguez then followed with an RBI single, plating Machado to give the Chiefs the early 5-0 lead.

Yariel Gonzalez then singled home Taylor Bryant who doubled earlier in the inning to give the Chiefs a 6-0 lead. Gonzalez, however, was thrown out trying to stretch the single into a double to end the inning.

Trailing 6-0 in the bottom of the second inning, Logan Farrar led off the frame with a 398 foot moonshot to right field to put the Snappers on the board. The Snappers then scored again in the bottom of the sixth, as Farrar singled home Trace Loehr to plate the Snappers only two runs of the game.

The Chiefs added another five runs in the seventh, after adding a run in the fourth to take a 12-2 lead. Machado struck again, recording a two-run single to give the Chiefs a 10-2 lead. Julio Rodriguez then followed Machado with a two-run home run to put the Chiefs up 12-2 after seven.

Neither team would threaten to score for the remainder of the game, as the Snappers took three-out-of-four from the Chiefs in their first meeting of the season.

Snappers starter Bryce Conley was tabbed with his first loss of the season, as he surrendered seven runs on eight hits while striking out three over five innings.

Newcomer Nick Highberger pitched a scoreless eighth inning, allowing just two hits before the Snappers went to first baseman Hunter Hargrove on the mound for the ninth inning. Hargrove pitched the final frame and did not surrender a hit and all three batters he faced flew out to Snappers center fielder Austin Beck.

The Snappers then went in order in the ninth inning to end the game and the Snappers three-game winning streak and first loss at Pohlman Field of the season.
