Ballpark Festival of Beers Set for September 24

CHARLESTON, SC - Baseball and beer are a natural combination, and thanks to the Charleston RiverDogs that winning formula does not end with the conclusion of the season.

 

Whether they enjoy a classic American lager, or international ales, stouts, pilsners and specialty brews, area beer enthusiasts can "Be Your Own Fan" of their beverage of choice while sampling the gamut.

 

On Saturday, September 24 at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, the Lowcountry will have the chance to taste some of the finest beers on earth at the 9th Annual Ballpark Festival of Beers.

 

More than 100 different varieties of brew will be available to enlighten and quench the taste buds of every die-hard beer enthusiast.  From 7-10 pm, patrons will receive sampling tickets, each good for a 5-ounce taste of their favorite beer.  Early birds will be rewarded, as the first 1,000 people through the gates receive a commemorative sampling glass. 

 

The RiverDogs will also have an array of delicious food available to complement the many suds which are sure to satisfy the palates of each and every fan.  Entertainment will also be provided by local band Spunjwurthi, a rock quarter fronted by Howlin' Larry Strickland.

 

"The Ballpark Festival of Beers continues to grow, and in our ninth year we are excited more than ever about offering more selections from around the globe," said RiverDogs Special Events Director Melissa Azevado.  

 

The Ballpark Festival of Beers is a 21-and-over event.  Those under 21 will not be allowed into the park.  Advanced tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the RiverDogs Box Office or on-line at www.RileyParkEvents.com.   Day-of-event tickets will cost $30.
