CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs are constantly on the forefront of providing new and exciting food and beverage options at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. This time, with the help of Palmetto Brewery, the RiverDogs have their own special beer brewed exclusively for consumption at The Joe. "The Original" will make its debut tonight.
According to Palmetto Brewery's official drink description, "The Original" is light and balanced beer without dark roots or bitterness. It is sunlight dried straw in color and features a lightly malty palate. The RiverDogs branded beer is also described as an adventurous blonde with a clean crisp tangerine aroma and a neat finish along with a slight hint of lemongrass.
"The Original" will be offered in the Palmetto Brewery Beer Garden throughout the remainder of the 2014 RiverDogs season. Fans can easily find it on tap with its special baseball bat handle tap.
Palmetto Brewery is the oldest operating brewery in South Carolina. Founded by Ed Falkenstein in 1993, Palmetto Brewery has been making tasty beer for more than a decade. They offer four main brews available all year round: Charleston Lager, Amber Ale, Pale Ale, and Espresso Porter. Palmetto Brewery also features four seasonal brews available different times throughout the year: Ginger Slap, Aftershock, A.M. Wood, and Ghost Rider.
The RiverDogs open a three-game homestand on Thursday evening at 7:05pm against the Rome Braves, with Palmetto Brewery and Awendaw Green sponsoring a postgame concert by The Dunder Chiefs adjacent to the Beer Garden. It's another Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, presented by 95SX, with the Ashley View Pub hosting DJ Natty Heavy, $1 drafts, a wing-eating contest presented by Wild Wing Café.
