MedTrust Medical Transport Night Set for August 21 at The Joe

August 10, 2015

CHARLESTON, SC - While you're well and don't need it, you can get the rare opportunity to glance inside an emergency response vehicle and visit the "Living Well" Tent during MedTrust Medical Transport Night that will be held on Friday, August 21 at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park when the Charleston RiverDogs host the Augusta GreenJackets.

Two medical transport vehicles, one emergency and one non-emergency, will be on hand at The Joe for fans to tour in an attempt to gain a better understanding of what both vehicles do.

"Our goal is to demystify what happens in an ambulance as it's really a place for amazing mobile medical care," said Josh Watts, CEO of MedTrust. "We're thrilled that our partnership with the RiverDogs affords us the opportunity to introduce the community to our staff and our equipment in a comfortable, controlled setting such as The Joe."

In addition to the transport vehicles, MedTrust will also have a "Living Well" tent at the park that fans will be encouraged to stroll through as EMTs will be on-site providing free blood pressure and glucose checks. MedTrust will also take part in pregame and in-game festivities.

"The RiverDogs partnership with MedTrust has been invaluable this season," said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. "Having their friendly staff and exceptional service on site at every home game has been a wonderful asset to our fans. This night allows our fans to get to know more about the staff and the elements of being an EMT without the fear or stress of an actual emergency."
