The Yankees have recently been very active in the international free agent market, leading to many young signees. RiverDogs fans should keep their eyes open for 19-year-old shortstop Jorge Mateo (No. 3 on Top 30 list) who is expected to see Charleston in 2015. Mateo made his U.S. debut in 2014 and played in 15 games with the GCL Yankees before a broken wrist ended his season.
