OUTFIELD: JORDAN DANKS

Jordan Danks first appeared as a member of the Charlotte Knights at the start of the last decade (2010). In five seasons with the team (2010-14), the talented outfielder set a majority of the team’s all-time records. For his efforts as one of the best Knights of all-time -- and as the all-time hits king in franchise history -- Danks is the first of three outfielders selected for the All-Decade Team (2010-19).

Along with his solid offense, Danks was exceptional at patrolling center field for the Knights -- both at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, SC and at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. In 2011, Danks earned a Rawlings Gold Glove Award for his stellar defense. In 2013, as the Knights were set to close down Knights Stadium and head to a new home in Uptown Charlotte, Danks was selected as a member of the All-Knights Stadium Team.

The 2014 season was one for the ages for the Texas native. He cemented his legacy on August 1, 2014 when he was at the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning of the suspended game from the night before (July 31). At that moment, in front of another tremendous crowd at BB&T Ballpark, Danks broke the all-time hits record set by Joe Borchard back in 2005. His record-setting hit -- #440 -- was a two-run home run off of Durham reliever Brandon Gomes. It came in his 451st career Knights game.

The 2014 season was the fifth and final season in a Knights uniform for Danks. He certainly went out with a bang as he batted .270 (94-for-348) with 51 runs scored, 18 doubles, 16 home runs and 57 RBIs in 93 games. Much like in previous seasons, Danks also spent time in Chicago – earning a promotion on three occasions throughout the year. Still, he provided the Knights with solid play throughout and was a fan-favorite every step of the way.

ALL-TIME HITS KING AND MORE
His final season with the Knights was a season full of records. Currently, he holds the franchise record in hits (449), games played (463), at-bats (1,682), runs scored (250), and walks (215). He is also tied for first in triples (12), is second in doubles (95), second in RBIs (222), and fifth in home runs (52).
