(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped game three of the six-game series against the Memphis Redbirds by a score of 5-1 on Thursday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. Despite the loss, the Knights have still won 10 of their last 16 games.

Charlotte shortstop Colson Montgomery launched a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning on Thursday. The home run, his fourth of the season, was Charlotte’s only run of the game. Montgomery entered the season ranked as the top prospect in the Chicago White Sox system by Baseball America. He paced the offense on Thursday with two hits on the night.

RHP Johan Domínguez (2-2, 5.63) started the game for the Knights and was saddled with the loss. Dominguez allowed four runs on five hits over 2.2 innings pitched. The Charlotte bullpen once again did a solid job in relief, allowing just one run the rest of the way. RHP Chase Plymell (2.0 IP) and RHP Dalton Roach (1.0 IP) did not allow a run on the evening.

Earlier in the day, the Knights placed infielder Lenyn Sosa on the injured list. Sosa was in the midst of a hot streak in which he homered in four of his last six games.

The Knights will continue the six-game home series against the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals) on Friday night Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte, NC. The “Voice of the Charlotte Knights” Matt Swierad and long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call on www.CharlotteKnights.com on Friday starting at 7:00 p.m. First pitch is set for 7:04 p.m. from the home of the Knights.
