Dayton, Ohio-Kane County shortstop Jazz Chisholm blasted two home runs and added a triple and two singles to lead the Cougars to a 13-4 victory over the Dayton Dragons on Monday night. The Kane County win snapped the Dragons three-game winning streak and allowed the Cougars to avoid a series sweep at Fifth Third Field before a crowd of 7,652.
Chishom was 5 for 6 and had a chance to hit for the cycle in his final at-bat in the ninth inning. Needing a double, he lined a hit off the glove of diving center fielder Andy Sugilio, but Chishom held at first base without attempting to go to second.
Kane County scored four runs in the top of the first inning and another in the second to take an early 5-0 lead. Dayton's Raul Wallace belted a solo home run in the third to make it 5-1, but Kane County responded with three more runs in the fourth, keyed by a two-run home run by Chisholm, his second of the game and 15th of the year, to make it 8-1.
After the Dragons scored one run in the fifth on a double by Wallace and an RBI single by Andy Sugilio, Kane County tacked on four more runs in the sixth to build their lead to 12-2.

Dragons starting pitcher Adrian Rodriguez (4-5) suffered the loss. He worked three and one-third innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
The Dragons 11-hit attack was led by Wallace, who had a home run and double with two runs scored. Sugilio had his fifth straight two-hit game. Jose Garcia had two hits and a walk.
The Dragons fell to 12-13 in the second half. They are one game out of the wildcard slot in the Midwest League East Division Second Half playoff chase.
