Reds.com Reports Reds Outfielder Ryan Ludwick to Play for Dragons Beginning Wednesday

DAYTON, OHIO-The Cincinnati Reds official website, reds.com, is reporting that Reds outfielder Ryan Ludwick will begin an injury rehabilitation assignment with the Dayton Dragons on Wednesday, July 24th when the Dragons play at Lansing against the Lansing Lugnuts.  The game will start at 7:05 p.m.   

Ludwick suffered a separated shoulder in the Reds opening day game on April 1st.  He is currently on the Reds 60-day disabled list.  The length of Ludwick's rehab assignment is not known.  The Dragons return from their series in Lansing on Saturday, July 27 to begin a five-game homestand at Fifth Third Field.

Ludwick enjoyed an outstanding season for the Reds in 2012, batting .275 with 26 home runs and 80 runs batted in.  He became a free agent following the season and was re-signed by the Reds to a multi-year contract.

Ludwick will be the second Major League player to play for the Dragons this season on an injury rehabilitation assignment.  Johnny Cueto pitched for the Dragons on May 9 and May 14.
