Water Street District to Host "Party at the Plaza" Event on Friday, May 3

DAYTON, Ohio -- Water Street District will once again bring bonus fun and excitement to Day Air Ballpark with three “Party at the Plaza” events in 2024.

“The Dragons experience begins for each game on the plaza outside of Day Air Ballpark. Our partners at Water Street District are bringing together truly spectacular events with three “Parties at the Plaza” in 2024,” said Bob Murphy, President of the Dayton Dragons.

The first event, “Wild in Water Street District,” will hit the plaza before the Dragons face the West Michigan Whitecaps on Friday, May 3. The Dragons and Water Street District encourage fans and downtown residents to visit the plaza between 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. to enjoy festivities before first pitch.

“We’re looking forward to the first event on Friday, May 3,” Murphy said. “It’s going to be a can’t miss day in the heart of Water Street District.”

Jeff Stevens from Mix 107.7 will host the event, featuring Dragons excitement, food trucks, and a beer truck from Heidelberg Distributing.

“Wild in Water Street District” also includes live music from the Madison Mohawk Steel Drum Band, plus live entertainment skits with the Green Team. Inflatables for kids, oversized lawn games, cornhole, and goodies will also be available.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live will make a guest appearance before their May 4-5 Glow Party show at The Nutter Center. Fans will have a chance to meet Dayton’s very own Cody Holman, driver of the HW 5-Alarm™ .

The Dayton Pedal Wagon will travel around the heart of Water Street District, then return to the plaza where attendees can enter a raffle for a “night in the Water Street District” premium travel package. For those entering the raffle, the Downtown Dayton Partnership will be present to discuss the great things Dayton, Ohio has to offer.

Bringing the wild to the “Party at the Plaza” event, Water Street Community members, Winan’s and Square One Salon, plus the Dayton Beer Company are partnering with Honey Hill Farm and ReptiGirls Reptiles to educate fans on some of the world’s coolest animals. Heater, Gem, Princess Jade, and even Roofman will join the party!
