Drew Davies & Ichiro Cano Named 2026 Florida State League All-Stars

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Tortugas outfielder Drew Davies and third baseman Ichiro Cano were named Florida State League All-Stars on Tuesday, recognizing a pair of standout seasons in which the two finished first and second in the league in on-base percentage.

Davies and Cano become the 47th and 48th Florida State League All-Stars in Tortugas franchise history. The honors also mark the sixth time in franchise history that Daytona has had multiple players named FSL All-Stars in the same season.

Davies led all qualified FSL hitters with a .414 on-base percentage, while Cano finished immediately behind him at .412. Cano also ranked second in the league with a .297 batting average, while Davies finished fourth at .278, giving Daytona two of the league's top four qualified hitters by average.

The duo served as two of the most consistent offensive pieces for a Tortugas club that captured the FSL East second-half championship and reached the postseason for the third consecutive season.

Davies, a native of Adelaide, South Australia, appeared in 101 games for Daytona and finished the season batting .278 with 88 hits, 18 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 57 RBI and 56 runs scored. His 69 walks were the most on the Tortugas and helped him post a team-best .414 OBP and an .829 OPS.

His plate discipline also placed him among the best offensive players in franchise history. Davies' 69 walks were the third-most in a single season in Tortugas history, while his .414 OBP ranked fifth-highest in a single season in franchise history.

The 20-year-old completed his second season with Daytona after joining the Tortugas during the 2025 campaign. Davies played 49 games for Daytona in 2025 before returning for 101 games in 2026, giving him 150 regular-season games with the Tortugas over the last two seasons. He improved from a .238/.372/.320 slash line with Daytona in 2025 to .278/.414/.415 in 2026.

Cano put together one of the FSL's top all-around offensive seasons, batting .297 with 109 hits, 19 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 64 RBI and 67 runs scored across 110 games. He drew 68 walks and finished with a .412 OBP, .422 slugging percentage and .834 OPS.

His .297 average trailed only Jupiter's Echedry Vargas (.323) among qualified FSL hitters, while his .412 OBP ranked second only to Davies. Cano led Daytona in hits and RBI and tied for the team lead in runs among players who finished the season with the club, while his 68 walks ranked second behind Davies.

Cano's season also left his name near the top of the Tortugas' single-season record book. His 68 walks were the fourth-most in franchise history, one behind Davies, while his .412 OBP ranked sixth-highest in a single season in franchise history.

The 21-year-old native of San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico, also completed his second season with Daytona. Cano first joined the Tortugas in August 2025 and appeared in 22 games before returning to Daytona for the entirety of his 110-game 2026 campaign. Across 132 regular-season games with the Tortugas over two seasons, he has recorded 123 hits and 70 RBI.

Together, Davies and Cano became the anchors of the Daytona lineup during the club's run to the postseason, finishing 1-2 in the Florida State League in on-base percentage while both ranking among the league's top four in batting average.
