"The Dragons success is indeed a community-wide collaborative effort, one that everyone should be proud of," said Robert Murphy, Dayton Dragons President & General Manager. "We could not do the things that we do without the support of the Dayton community."
"The 2017 season was a good one, starting with the Reds Futures game to begin the season, our first-ever nine-inning no-hitter at Fifth Third Field, three Reds rehabs in Dayton, Jose Siri's record-breaking hitting streak, a deep run into the playoffs, great entertainment, and another sold-out season. It was a fun summer at the ballpark."
"The Dayton region should be very proud of what they have accomplished over the last 18 years. This is unprecedented. Record breaking. Amazing. And we are looking forward to another terrific year of Dayton Baseball in 2018. We are appreciative and humbled by the fan support, and we will continue to work tirelessly to keep our fans enjoying the best baseball experience in the country.u5:p"
The Dragons 18 seasons of operation represent the top 18 single-season attendance totals in Single-A baseball history.
Each of the Dragons home games in 2017 resulted in a sell-out, extending the Dragons sell-out streak to 1,246 consecutive games. Every Dragons game ever played at Fifth Third Field has been a sell-out.
Minor League Baseball™ also announced that its 2017 regular season attendance total of 41,832,364 was the fifth highest total in its 117-year history (established in 1901) and the 13th consecutive year above 41 million.
