May 23, 2015

Scranton, PA --- Matt Buschmann worked seven scoreless innings in leading Durham by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 4-2 on Saturday night at PNC Field.

Buschmann (W, 4-3) authored his sixth quality start in his last seven outings, permitting just two hits and fanning six en route to his staff-leading fourth win.

Durham (23-22) broke a scoreless game with three runs in the fifth against North Carolina native Bryan Mitchell (L, 2-4). Corey Brown stroked the first pitch of the inning for a double into the right field corner. After a walk to Luke Maile, Leornardo Reginatto singled to left to fill the bases. Taylor Motter singled home Brown to put Durham ahead 1-0. Jake Elmore bounced into a double play to score a second run, then Eugenio Velez grounded a single into right to score Reginatto for a 3-0 lead.

The Bulls tacked on a run in the seventh when a Velez double play grounder scored Motter from third.

Buschmann departed after seven, turning the game over to Jordan Norberto. Norberto allowed a single and a walk and was lifted in favor of Jim Miller. Miller yielded a pair of singles to bring in runs, but completed the inning with Durham up 4-2.

Ronald Belisario (S, 8) closed out Durham's second straight win in the ninth, retiring three Rail Riders hitters as the tying run.

The Bulls road trip concludes Sunday afternoon at 1:05 PM ET with Scott Diamond (3-2, 3.77) on the mound against Matt Tracy (0-1, 4.84).
