Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow struck out six batters over six solid innings as part of a Major League Rehab Assignment with Durham and third baseman Tristan Gray drove in two runs, while Nashville scored three runs in the tenth inning of the Sounds’ 6-4 extra-inning win over the Bulls in front of a paid attendance of 8,824 on Sunday afternoon at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Glasnow (6.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO) struck out six over six strong innings, yielding just two hits and two walks. In four outings with Durham as part of his Major League Rehab Assignment he has allowed just one run on seven hits over 13.1 frames, adding 20 punchouts. Sounds reliever Thiago Viera (2.0 IP, H, BB, 3 SO) earned the win and Alex Claudio (1.0 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 SO) notched the save, while Bulls righty Ben Heller (2.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 SO) suffered the defeat.

Gray got the Bulls on the board with a two-run single to left in the third. The Sounds would narrow the margin to one in the fifth before C Alex Jackson’s two-run blast to right in the seventh made it a 3-2 Nashville advantage. RF Ruben Cardenas would later come across on a game-tying RBI groundout in the eighth to force the extra frame. The Sounds would plate three in the top of the tenth, with Durham able to muster a lone tally.

Following a Monday off day, the Bulls are scheduled to start a six-game road series versus the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, on Tuesday, May 23. First pitch of the series opener is set for 7:05pm with starting pitchers not yet announced.
