Lawrenceville, GA --- Travis Demeritte homered twice, while league leader Adam Duvall hit his 26th leading the Gwinnett Stripers past the Durham Bulls 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at Coolray Field.
Demeritte hit the first of his two homers against Durham starter Jalen Beeks (L, 0-1) with two on in the first inning. Beeks surrendered a solo home run to Demeritte in the third, lifting Gwinnett (51-38) to a 4-0 lead.
Duvall took out Hunter Wood in the eighth after a pair of walks.
Beeks absorbed the loss, working five innings, permitting four runs while walking one and striking out five.
Huascar Ynoa (W, 2-2) worked his longest outing of the season, pitching seven scoreless innings, fanning four while permitting two hits.
The Bulls managed five singles in the game, stranding all five baserunners.
Durham (53-37), shutout for just the third time this season, enters the All-Star Break with a 1 1/2 game lead in the South over the Stripers.
The Bulls return to action at the DBAP on Thursday night against the Norfolk Tides at 7:05 PM ET.
