Minor League Baseball on Monday announced their weekly Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for the time frame between May 12-18, with right-hander Joe Boyle being named the International League's Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
Boyle fired 5.0 scoreless frames of one-hit ball to earn the victory on May 19 at Rochester, adding one walk and five strikeouts in a 7-4 win. The right-hander previously was named IL Pitcher of the Week for the span of April 13-20 after tossing the first six innings of Durham's no-hitter on April 19.
Across seven starts with the Bulls this season, the 25-year-old owns a 3-3 record and 1.46 ERA (37.0 IP), adding 13 walks and 39 strikeouts. He enters play today pacing the International League in earned-run average, WHIP (0.84), and batting average against (.144).
Boyle is the first player to earn multiple weekly league honors in the same season since the 2023 campaign, when right-hander Evan McKendry earned Pitcher of the Week honors for May 8-14, and May 29-June 4.
Following a Monday off day, the Bulls return to action on Tuesday, May 20 to begin a six-game road series with the Worcester Red Sox, the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05pm.
