Durham Bulls outfielder Tristan Peters and right-hander Joe Boyle were named the International League's Player and Pitcher of the Month, respectively, for the month of June, as announced by Minor League Baseball on Thursday afternoon.

In 25 June contests, Peters batted .385 (35-91), adding 22 runs, 11 doubles, five homers and 27 RBI, drawing 18 walks compared to 18 strikeouts, in addition to a .486 on-base percentage, .670 slugging percentage, and 1.156 on-base plus slugging percentage. He led all International League players in hits, while also ranking tied for first in runs scored, RBI, and extra-base hits, second in doubles, OBP, and OPS, tied for second in walks, fourth in batting average and total bases (61), and fifth in SLG. He recorded at least one hit in 21 of his 25 games in June, reaching base in all 24 starts.

Across 81 games overall this season, the 25-year-old owns a .304 clip (84-276) with 48 runs, 20 doubles, two triples, eight homers and 49 RBI, along with a .395 OBP and .873 OPS. He enters play today ranked fourth in the International League in hits, as well as tied for fifth in doubles, seventh in total bases (132), tied for ninth in walks, and tenth in RBI.

The Winkler, Manitoba, Canada native was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays in a November 15, 2022 trade from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for infielder Brett Wisely. He was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the seventh round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of Southern Illinois University.

Boyle across six outings (five starts) in June accumulated a 3-0 record and 1.80 ERA (30.0 IP), adding 11 walks and 49 strikeouts, in addition to a 0.97 WHIP and .167 batting average against (18-108). He led the International League in strikeouts while also ranking second in WHIP and batting average against, as well as third in ERA. The right-hander yielded one earned run or less in five of those six outings.

Overall this season, the 25-year-old has recorded a 6-4 mark and 1.85 ERA (73.0 IP) over 15 appearances (14 starts) with the Bulls, adding 31 walks and 96 strikeouts, along with a 0.99 WHIP and .160 batting average against (41-256). He enters play today pacing the International League in ERA, WHIP, and batting average against, in addition to ranking second in strikeouts behind only Bulls left-hander Ian Seymour (99).

The Missouri native was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays from the Oakland Athletics in a December 14, 2024 trade along with infielder Will Simpson and right-hander Jacob Watters in exchange for left-handers Jeffrey Springs and Jacob Lopez. He was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of the University of Notre Dame.
