The Worcester Red Sox dropped the Durham Bulls 7-1 on Sunday afternoon in the Bulls’ road-trip finale at Polar Park.

Durham (8-13) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first against Naoyuki Uwasawa (W, 2-1) when Logan Driscoll singled home Josh Lowe. In the Red Sox third, Jamie Westbrook guided a two-run double into the right field corner to put Worcester (9-11) up 2-1 against Durham starter Joe Rock (L, 1-1).

Worcester tacked on a run in the fifth, another in the sixth, and put the game away with three in the seventh against Carlos Garcia, who was making his first appearance off the IL in 15 days. Mark Kolezsvary connected for a two-run homer to push the Red Sox lead to 7-1.

Durham mustered just six singles in the game. The Bulls dropped the six-game series to the Red Sox 4-games-to-2, and finished their longest road trip of the season 5-7.

Rock absorbed the loss allowing two earned runs across 4 1/3 innings, fanning seven.

The Bulls’ 13-day, 12-game road trip concludes Sunday afternoon at 1:05 PM ET. Joe Rock (1-0, 7.82) is slated to start against Naoyuki Uwasawa (1-1, 6.30).

Durham returns home on Tuesday morning at 11:05 AM to open a six-game set against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders. Mason Montgomery is slated to start for the Bulls.
