This is the first ever nomination for the Southwest’s fan-favorite pup. Chico is nominated for Greatest Community Impact, Best In-Game Routine or Skit, and Best Video Skit or Short.

Chico and the Chihuahuas are asking for help to round the bases and bring the trophies home by voting today, October 19 through Saturday, November 12 at mascothalloffame.com. Fans can vote once a day per category.

Located in Whiting, Ind., the Mascot Hall of Fame, rooted in S.T.E.A.M., works to educate, spark creativity, promote fun, and engage in communities while honoring inductees. The Mascot Hall of Fame Awards include Major League Sports, Minor League Sports, Collegiate, High School, and Corporate mascots. For more on the awards, CLICK HERE.

Chico has been a staple in the communities of El Paso and the Southwest Region after appearing on the steps of Southwest University Park on April 14, 2014. Since then, he has averaged 500 appearances annually that include school visits, grand openings, parades, graduations, and birthday parties to name a few.

Aside from baseball, Chico is an advocate of education having assisted in such programs as Read Across America, Red Ribbon Week, Anti-Bullying Week, and STAAR Testing Rallies.
