The Erie SeaWolves, in collaboration with their parent club the Detroit Tigers, have released the club’s 2026 Break Camp roster, highlighted by two top 30 prospects and 12 players with previous experience in the Flagship City.
John Peck (Detroit’s No. 15 prospect per MLB Pipeline) and Izaac Pacheco (No. 22) lead a lineup with a strong mix of returners and exciting newcomers. Peck burst onto the scene last season with a strong campaign in West Michigan (.307 average, 22 doubles, 10 home runs) before a late-season promotion to Erie. He continued to raise his stock with an outstanding spring training, hitting .333 in 20 games for the Tigers. Pacheco reaches Double-A for the first time after being named 2025 Midwest League Most Valuable Player. The 2021 second-round pick put his power on display for the Whitecaps with a league-best 17 home runs and 45 extra base hits. Peyton Graham and Andrew Jenkins join their 2025 West Michigan Whitecaps teammates on the infield. Each infielder played a significant role in West Michigan’s 2025 Midwest League Championship. The Whitecaps went 96-39 during the regular season and playoffs under current SeaWolves manager Tony Cappuccilli.
Chris Meyers returns to the UPMC Park outfield as the SeaWolves' all-time postseason leader in home runs (5), RBIs (17) and hits (18), playing a major role in the SeaWolves’ championships in 2023 and 2024. Justice Bigbie has also contributed to multiple Erie postseason runs with over 170 games played in a SeaWolves’ uniform. Seth Stephenson debuted with Erie at the end of the 2025 season and hit .254 in 21 games for the SeaWolves. Brett Callahan’s tools were on full display at spring training as he blasted a home run in his first 2026 at-bat with the Tigers. The 24-year-old outfielder hit .259 with nine home runs for West Michigan in 2025.
The pitching staff features a blend of high-upside newcomers and familiar arms. Joe Miller headlines the rotation after his dominant 2025 campaign in West Michigan. The former Penn Quaker and Hatboro, PA native put up a 2.91 ERA and notched 92 punchouts in 21 starts for the Whitecaps. Familiar faces in the rotation include 2025 SeaWolves starters Kenny Serwa and Carlos Peña. Righties Yosber Sanchez and Moises Rodriguez bring electric fastballs from the bullpen, and veteran relievers Wandisson Charles and John Stankiewicz both hold experience at the Triple-A level. Trevin Michael returns to Erie after being one of the team’s most consistent bullpen arms in 2025 (1.69 ERA in 16 appearances).
The SeaWolves open the 2026 season on Friday, April 3 at 6:05 p.m. against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants). Before the game, the club will raise its 2025 Southwest Division Championship banner.
