Richmond broke a late tie to beat Erie 6-3 on Wednesday.
Trevin Michael opened on the mound for Erie and struggled in his Double-A debut. He walked three in two-thirds of an inning and surrendered a two-run double to Brady Whalen which gave Richmond a 2-0 lead.
Erie came back to grab a lead in the second inning. With two on and one out against Nick Zwack, Julio Rodriguez blasted a three-run home run to give the SeaWolves a 3-2 lead.
Lael Lockhart entered to toss the middle innings for Erie starting in the third. Richmond would tie the game in the fourth on a two-out, RBI double by Ismael Munguia to make it 3-3.
In the eighth, Andrew Magno struggled for Erie. Richmond went ahead on a two-run double by Victor Bericoto to lead 5-3. They added a run in the ninth against Jake Higginbotham on a solo home run by Brandon Martorano.
Spencer Bivens (5-4) earned the win by tossing six scoreless innings in relief of Zwack to finish the game. Magno (3-3) took the loss.
