Keizer, OR - San Francisco Giants first-round pick, Joey Bart, batted 3-for-4, with two home runs and four RBI as the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes beat the AquaSox, 14-1, in the opening game of a five-game series at Volcanoes Stadium.

Keizer, OR - San Francisco Giants first-round pick, Joey Bart, batted 3-for-4, with two home runs and four RBI as the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes beat the AquaSox, 14-1, in the opening game of a five-game series at Volcanoes Stadium.

Bart, the second overall pick in the 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, belted his eighth and ninth home runs this season. He has hit five home runs against the AquaSox in six games.
The Volcanoes sent eight batters to the plate and went up 5-1 in the bottom of the second inning, which was capped on a two-run homer from Jose Layer.
Salem-Keizer sent eight more batters through in the seventh. The big blow was a grand slam home run by Nico Giarratano. The Volcanoes had four home runs.
Solomon Bates (3-0) picked up the win in relief for Salem-Keizer. He went three scoreless innings and allowed three hits and struck out eight.
Connor Hoover batted 2-for-4 with a double and scored the AquaSox only run. Bobby Honeyman and Charlie McConnell had two hits apiece for the AquaSox.
