Both the Frogs and Canadians went three-up, three-down in the first inning.
The Canadians took an early lead in the second inning by scoring one run on three hits, 1-0. However, Greifer Andrade and Onil Pena hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom half to squash the Canadians lead, 2-1.
Vancouver left Logan Warmoth stranded in the third inning and RHP Randy Bell kept the Canadians scoreless with three groundouts.
Clay Chandler was called to relieve Bell in the fourth inning, tossing a scoreless inning in his Northwest League debut. The Frogs extended their lead in the bottom half of the inning when Andrade reached first on a fielding error by third baseman Mattingly Romanin. Andrade would later cross home plate on a wild pitch by Juan Nunez, 3-1.

In the sixth inning, Castellanos took over on the mound for Chandler recording two strikeouts and handed the Canadians their fourth straight scoreless inning, 3-1. Castellanos continued on the mound in the seventh inning allowing only one hit in the inning. In the eighth he struck out the side, sending the Canadians back to the dugout with a two-run deficit. A Joe Venturino single and Chris Torres walk gave the Sox two base runners in the bottom half but were left stranded.
Matt Clancy relieved Castellanos in the ninth inning and struck out the side. The Everett AquaSox collected the first win of the three-game series against Vancouver Canadians.
