Dust Devils Even Series
April 24, 2024 - PASCO, WA: The Tri-City Dust Devils responded from a blowout loss in game one to even the series at a game apiece with an 8-4 win over the AquaSox before a crowd of 1,129 at Gesa Stadium. Everett took a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
April 24, 2024 - PASCO, WA: The Tri-City Dust Devils responded from a blowout loss in game one to even the series at a game apiece with an 8-4 win over the AquaSox before a crowd of 1,129 at Gesa Stadium.
Everett took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Jared Sundstrom led off with a walk and later scored with two outs on an RBI single to left by Hunter Fitz-Gerald.
Tri-City got their first lead in the fifth inning. Joe Stewart scored on a sacrifice fly from Jorge Ruiz. Later in the inning, leadoff batter Caleb Ketchup came home on a two-out RBI single to right by Denzer Guzman, which made it 2-1 Tri-City.
The AquaSox had their second lead in the top of the sixth inning on a two-run homerun by Sundstrom, which gave the Frogs a 3-2 lead.
But back came the Dust Devils in the last of the sixth. Ketchup walked against AquaSox right-hander Jimmy Kingsbury to force in Jadiel Sanchez from third to tie the game at 3-3.
The AquaSox went back out in front, 4-3, in the top of the seventh-inning thanks to an RBI double by Fitz-Gerald that scored Axel Sanchez.
Tri-City grabbed the lead back for good scoring three times in the last of the seventh. The big blow was a two-out two-run double to left by Alberto Rios that plated Matt Coutney and Werner Blakely.
AquaSox starting pitcher Michael Morales went 4 2/3 innings. He allowed six hits and two runs (both earned). He walked two and struck out four while throwing 79 pitches.
Sanchez was 2-for-4 for the AquaSox with a run scored. Fitz-Gerald batted 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
