Richmond, Va. - The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, continue a week-long unveiling of their celebratory 5th Season 2014 Promotional Calendar with the release of a wide-ranging schedule of community involvement and theme nights.
The 5th season celebration begins April 10th with an Opening Night visit from the Big Top as the Richmond Flying Circus will be on hand to entertain. The circus-themed night will feature fire jugglers, stilt walkers and aerial acrobats who will aid and assist Nutzy in his 5th - and most daring - grand entrance yet.
The recently announced ASK Fun Walk & 5K on April 26th highlights a heavily involved community schedule for 2014. This year's unique Jersey auctions will feature RVA, VCU and World Cup themed uniforms. The jerseys will be worn by the Squirrels and then auctioned off during the designated games for charitable organizations such as the Paul Keyes Foundation. Community Nights and Education Day will return in 2014 along with several bizarre theme nights and the annual Tribute to the Peanut. The Squirrels also plan on "eating the ballpark" a stunt that will feature a cheese replica of The Diamond on May 15th. Many 2014 theme nights will also include fireworks, a giveaway, or charitable component.
"Once again in 2014 our goal is to provide a smorgasbord of events, activities and entertainment options that will positively impact our community," said Flying Squirrels Vice President & COO Todd "Parney" Parnell. "We are extremely proud of this season's lineup."
