5 Things To Look For In 2015

As the Canadians put the final touches on a huge stadium upgrade out at Scotiabank Field, we look at some "can't miss" experiences
June 10, 2015

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - You could have used an egg timer to count the time between the final pitch of 2014 and the start to a whole host of upgrades out at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.

Here's a look at five key upgrades out at the stadium this season;

1) The "hey y'all!" Porch - With seating for approximately 300 fans, this all-you-can-eat porch-styled, seating area has had the city buzzing since the Canadians released the artist's renderings last fall. It has been more than 40 years since a baseball fan out at "The Nat" could sit beyond the left field fence and enjoy a game in style.

From a catered buffet, to seating with a counter top in front of you to place your meal and beverages, this could become the new standard when it comes to bringing your group out to Scotiabank Field. Oh, did we mention that the front row of the "hey y'all!" Porch has a row of rocking chairs to enjoy the game? This ballpark experience spared no expense and will be one of the most talked about stadium area's in all of Minor League Baseball.

2) Smoke 'em if ya got 'em - The Canadians are always looking to make your food options sing out at Scotiabank Field and in 2015, we will be smoking our meats down the 3rd base line for a flavour extravaganza like no other. We'll load up the smoker in the early morning and let that meat absorb all of that summertime flavour to give you a ballpark meal that will be second to none.

3) The Hard Rock Casino Vancouver BBQ Picnic In The Park - Fresher, Cleaner and more exciting than ever before. Groups can reserve games in the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver BBQ Picnic In The Park area located down the 1st base line and truly be right on top of the action.

We've shoehorned as many ballpark favourites onto our menu in 2015 and have upgraded the area to help streamline the way you load up your plate before taking in a Vancouver Canadians games. Fresh salads, ice cold beverages and piping hot ballpark favourites have this ballpark tradition filling up fast. Learn more about how you can reserve your space by calling 604.872.5232.

4) Characters Galore - Although we cannot confirm this yet, there is a rumour going around town that the Canadians are on the verge of unveiling a new character out at the ballpark this summer? Have you been following the clues on our social media? You can follow us on twitter @vancanadians or on facebook at facebook.com/vancouvercanadians to see if you can figure out what's going on out at Scotiabank Field. Stay tuned!

5)  No Need To Cross Your Legs Anymore - As part of the new stadium upgrade, you'll notice an ample amount of new washrooms down the 3rd base line. Located behind the new seating area along the 3rd base line, fans can now look to avoid the concourse washrooms and get back into the game in just a matter of seconds.

Bonus:  Craft Corner - For our fans 19 years of age and older, we invite you to join us in the new Craft Corner located down the 3rd base line. This area has a wide selection of microbreweries all local to the Lower Mainland and will have our true fans of ales and lagers and experiencing Canadians Baseball in a whole, new way! Cheers!

More Bonus:  Lafarge Children's Play Area - This supervised area of the ballpark just got a huge makeover and is bigger and better than ever before with bouncy castles and huge inflatables - let your children have the time of their life as they run around and have fun in between cheering for our hometown C's.
