MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds dropped game three of a six-game series to the Durham Bulls at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park by the final score of 8-2 on Thursday night.

Memphis could only muster runs in the top of the first inning. Third baseman Kramer Robertson reached on an error to start the ball game. Later in the inning designated hitter Juan Yepez doubled and catcher Ali Sanchez singled to get the scoring started.

Redbirds starter T.J. Zeuch (0-4) gets credit for the loss after struggling in his fifth start of the season. The starter allowed a career-high tying 11 hits in 3.2 innings pitched, allowing six runs.

Thursday marked the right-hander allowing five or more runs for the fourth consecutive start.

Despite starting the game 0-for-3 with three strikeouts, second baseman Nolan Gorman extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a base hit in his final at-bat. Left fielder Conner Capel and shortstop Evan Mendoza each doubled in Thursday night’s contest.

The Memphis Redbirds (11-10) return to Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina for game three of the six-game series on Friday night at 5:35 p.m. CDT to take on the Durham Bulls (8-13).
