MEMPHIS, Tennessee - The first-place Memphis Redbirds (74-47) came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game, but the New Orleans Baby Cakes (Marlins) scored a run in the top of the 10th and held on for a 4-3 win Tuesday night at AutoZone Park.
New Orleans hit three home runs off Memphis starter Austin Warner and led 3-0 after the top of the fifth. Memphis tied the game with three runs in the home-half, highlighted by Rangel Ravelo's two-run home run that just cleared the left-center field wall.
Ravelo was 3-for-4 with a walk, extending his hitting streak to 16 games.
The game remained tied at 3 until the top of the 10th, when New Orleans' designated runner starting the inning on second base went to third on a single and scored on a sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the 10th, Memphis bunted its designated runner, Wilfredo Tovar, to third, but a groundout and a strikeout ended the contest.
Memphis turned three double plays in the game.
The Redbirds continue their series with New Orleans and seven-game homestand tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. For more information on single-game tickets, visit www.memphisredbirds.com.
