Thousands of years ago, a legend was born deep in the jungles of Mesoamerica. A mysterious creature lorded over all other animals, ruling the night with golden eyes that glow while on the hunt. The Mayans named this beast Balam, featuring it prominently in their culture and cosmology. What we call a jaguar today had divine association for the ancient civilizations of Central America. Rulers of antiquity used the jaguar to connect with power, poise, and cunning; so too do the New Hampshire Fisher Cats as the team transforms into "Gatos Feroces."

Hace miles de años, una leyenda nacio en las selvas de mesoamérica. Una misteriosa criatura dominaba todos los demas animales, sus ojos dorados brillaban salvajemente durante la caza. Los mayas nombran a esta bestia Balam, presentandola en su cultura y cosmologia. Lo que hoy llamamos jaguar tenia una asociacion divina para la antigua civilizacion de Centroamérica. Los gobernantes de la antigüedad usaban el jaguar para conectarse con poder, aplomo y astucia; asi igual los gatos pescadores de New Hampshire como equipo se transforma en los Gatos Feroces.
