Season two of Cat Chat has arrived! Grant Rogers joins Chris Jared to talk about what last season meant to him, what he takes away from starts, once being the "short guy" and his previous days of high school backup QB.

From Groves, Texas, Grant prefaced his collegiate days with a trip to Shreveport to visit 2025 Cats staffers Brent Lavallee and Mitch Huckabay at LSU-Shreveport before ultimately settling with Panola College. Two years later, Rogers transferred to McNeese State and was twice named Southland Conference Pitcher of the Year (2022, 2023) before being named to the 2023 Collegiate Baseball All-American 2nd Team. Toronto selected Rogers in the 11th round in 2023.

After 20 starts in 21 appearances and 111 2/3 innings between Single-A Dunedin and High-A Vancouver in 2024, Rogers jumped to 150 1/3 innings and started all 28 of his appearances between Vancouver and Double-A New Hampshire in 2025. Rogers went 3-1 in eight starts with a 1.82 ERA with the Canadians before receiving promotion to NH. Rogers made his Fisher Cats debut a day before his 24th birthday at Delta Dental Stadium and recorded 12 outs in a row with four strikeouts before a three-run fifth.

Between his 20 Double-A starts, 12 were outings of 6.0 IP or more, 10 of which were quality starts (6.0 IP or more, three or fewer earned runs). Following 108 Ks in 2024, Grant made it two consecutive seasons with 100+ strikeouts with 115 in 2025. Rogers led all of Toronto's minor league pitchers in wins (11), starts (28), and innings pitched (150.1).
