MANCHESTER, NH - New Fisher Cats manager John Tamargo Jr. joins Chris on this week's new episode of Cat Chat! Ready for his 16th season in the Blue Jays' organization, JT makes his return to the Eastern League in 2026, this time at the helm of New Hampshire. Tamargo Jr. has logged time in the Eastern League, but it was in his playing days after the New York Mets drafted him in 1996. JT's dad, John Sr., led the Binghamton Mets to one championship in two trips in his three years managing the B-Mets from 1994-1996.

After his playing days, Tamargo Jr. began his time in the coaching ranks as a hitting coach on staff with former big-leaguer Dave Clark with the Corpus Christi Hooks in the Houston Astros organization in 2004. Tamargo Jr. joined the Blue Jays organization in 2010 and began as a hitting coach with the Lansing Lugnuts before sliding into the manager role in Lansing in 2012.
Aside from the former affiliate in the Lansing Lugnuts, JT's time managing in Toronto's organization includes stops in the Dominican Summer League, the Gulf Coast/Florida Complex League, and time with the Vancouver Canadians. In 2025, Tamargo Jr. helped steer the FCL Blue Jays to their first-ever championship in the league's 61-year history.
