With the calendar now turned to 2017, baseball season is closer than ever, and buzz is building at Fluor Field as the Greenville Drive get set to officially unveil a variety of significant ballpark enhancements at this year's Reedy River Rivalry, presented by ScanSource.

The latest wave of Fluor Field updates includes a totally revamped Drive Team Store and Main Street Plaza. The interior of the Team Store will be expanded and reconfigured for an open floor plan while additional sliding doors will be added to the rear allowing for merchandise displays to be extended outside into the plaza. An additional will call facility will also be added to the plaza to provide Drive fans with additional ticket services and alleviate congestion

Once fans enter the Main Street gates, they can look to their immediate left to see the new Green Monster seats, which will bring the Fenway Park experience in Boston to Greenville with room for 100 fans to watch Drive baseball in the new best seats at Fluor Field. Fans won't want to miss this unique view, and these seats will be available for purchase when the Drive's single-game tickets go on sale in March.

The Reedy River Rivalry presented by ScanSource, featuring Clemson University and the University of South Carolina, always promises to be one of the best days of the year at Fluor Field. With 2017's rivalry game also providing the backdrop for the debut of all the latest Fluor Field enhancements, this will be a day you don't want to miss!

UPDATE (12/23):

2016 may be coming to a close, but the updates at Fluor Field are still moving quickly, highlighted by two notable new hospitality areas coming to the ballpark in 2017 - the Front Porch lounge and the Champions Club presented by Hubbell Lighting.

In 2010, the Greenville News referred to Fluor Field as Greenville's "front porch," noting the Drive's unique and deeply engrained connection with the Greenville community. As a nod to this special recognition, in 2017 the Drive will introduce the Front Porch lounge, a 2,700 square foot hospitality area for Drive ticket plan holders.

The Front Porch, located in the former Drive front office at the corner of Field and Markley Streets, will be available to ticket plan holders for all 70 Drive home games and provide high-end amenities including comfortable indoor seating, a full service bar, flat-screen televisions, ballpark snacks, and much more. Ticket plan holders and all game attendees will also be able to purchase special all-you-can-eat buffet packages on Friday & Saturday nights.

In addition to the Front Porch, Drive fans looking to host special group outings in 2017 should look no further than the all-new Champions Club, presented by Hubbell Lighting. This state-of-the-art club area will provide over 3,700 square feet of space, high-end menu options, bi-fold doors opening towards the field, and many other top-of-the-line amenities - perfect for Drive games & events all year round!

With 2017 almost here, baseball season feels closer than ever, and the Greenville Drive are excited about the enhancement projects that promise a better-than-ever Fluor Field experience for fans next season.

UPDATE (12/9):

When the 2017 Greenville Drive season begins, fans will notice some major changes as they enter the Fluor Field gates. Construction has begun on new entry plazas at both the Main Street and Field Street entrances, and both gates will receive backlit Fluor Field signage atop the gates and new brick pavers.

A new Will Call ticket booth will be constructed outside the Main Street gate to help alleviate congestion around the box office. In addition, the Drive Team Store will be expanded, and a roll-up door will be installed to the back of the store that will allow Drive and Red Sox merchandise to be purchased outside the stadium as well.

New greenery and a brand-new LED marquee will be added to the Main Street side, and the existing marquee outside of Main Street will be moved to the Field Street entrance.

Once inside the ballpark, fans will get to enjoy all-new stadium seating in sections 116-119 below the Paladin Plateau. The new seats will replace the old bleacher-style seating and will provide a more uniform, comfortable seating experience for fans.

Greenville Drive fans are in for an unforgettable fan experience in 2017, as the renovated plazas will serve as the grand entry into the all-new areas at Fluor Field.

UPDATE (11/25):

The 2017 season at Fluor Field will provide Drive fans with an upgraded experience, and the offseason construction updates are continuing to progress as the holidays near. These projects include all-new areas that will take group outings at Fluor Field to the next level.

The newest project that has begun at Fluor Field is the construction of the Rooftop Experience on the fieldhouse beyond the Green Monster. The Rooftop will feature a unique view of Drive baseball, as well as the Downtown Greenville skyline, for groups of 50-80 people.

The Rooftop Experience will include an awning for weather protection, restrooms, and a service elevator for easy access. A private catering menu and a full-service bar will be available for groups on the Rooftop, so you won't have to leave your seat to enjoy all the fun of Drive baseball.

In addition, construction continues on The Champions Club, as support beams are currently being put into place. This game-changing space, totaling 3,700 square feet, will bring a spacious, yet intimate, setting to accommodate groups of 100-300 people.

With stadium seating, bi-fold doors and air-conditioning throughout, The Champions Club is guaranteed to provide everything you want for your group outing, whether you're cheering on the Drive in June or hosting a special event in December.

Group outings at Fluor Field are a great way to bring people together, and these new venues will ensure you have a first-rate experience with the Drive.

UPDATE (11/11):

It follows that the Drive's 2017 enhancement project will add several different ballpark seating areas, all aimed at delivering best-in-class experiences for fans & visitors.

The Green Monster seating has come together quickly, with the steel beams and the foundation of the seats now in place. The walkway that will bridge the Green Monster seats to the Drive's new front office in the Fieldhouse building behind left field has been constructed as well.

In sections 116-119, construction continues on the all-new chairback seats. Fans in those sections will enjoy the same great views of Fluor Field's picturesque sunsets and Drive victories in comfortable, individual seating.

Lastly, progress on the Champions Club, Fluor Field's all-new 3,700 square foot club-level event space continues with footings & other structural foundations beginning to take shape. The Champions Club promises to provide an unmatched hospitality experience, both for Drive baseball games and year-round events.

Located on the third base side of the suite level, the Champions Club will feature 3,700 square feet of air-conditioned event space that can be utilized year-round for groups up to 200 people.

In addition, the construction of the seats atop the Green Monster has progressed, as the steel beams that will support the area are being put into place. The area will seat 100 people and will be a must-see for fans of all ages who want to catch a Drive home run or get the Fenway Park experience in Greenville.

ORIGINAL POST (9/28):

The Greenville Drive are currently in the baseball offseason, but this is no ordinary offseason in Downtown Greenville, as the major construction updates to Fluor Field at the West End began shortly after the conclusion of the 2016 season on Labor Day.

The first two projects that have begun are the new seats in sections 116 through 119 and the seating atop the Green Monster.

In the previous 11 seasons at Fluor Field, sections 116 through 119 featured aluminum bench seating. The bench seating is currently being removed, and the Drive will be installing chairback seats in all four sections for 2017. This project ensures that all non-berm seating at Fluor Field have chairbacks, which will make for a more uniform and comfortable seating experience for all fans.

The Green Monster seating, Fluor Field's newest best seats in the house, will bring a little slice of Fenway Park to Greenville, and currently, the area behind the wall is under construction to prepare for the 100 seats to be placed atop the Monster. A walkway is going to be constructed as well connecting the Green Monster seats to the Fluor Field concourse.

Stay tuned throughout the offseason as the Drive keep you posted on construction updates each month!
